The oil-immersed power transformer are used to convert high voltage electricity from the power grid to a lower voltage suitable for use in homes and business.The rating of a transformer refers to its maximum power capacity,and is measured in kilovolt-amperes(KVA).

    Oil-immersed transformers, use oil as a cooling medium for forced oil circulation, oil-immersed air cooling, oil-immersed water cooling, and oil-immersed self-cooling. Oil pillow, explosion-proof tube(pressure relief valve),radiator, insulation bushing, gas relay,and so forth are the essential parts of the transformer.


    1. Radiator

    The radiator is installed on the wall of the oil tank,and the upper and lower parts are communicated with the oil tank through the pipeline.When there is a temperature difference between the upper oil temperature of the transformer and the lower oil temperature,the oil convection is formed through the radiator,which flows back to the oil tank after cooling by the radiator,and plays the role of reducing the temperature of the transformer oil.In order to improve the cooling effect,measures such as self-cooling,forced air cooling and forced water cooling can be used.


    2. Oil pillow

    Oil pillow is also called oil tank.Transformer oil will expand and shrink due to temperature change,and the oil level will also rise or fall with the change of temperature.The function of the oil pillow is to buffer the thermal expansion and contraction of the oil and keep the tank always full of oil;at the same time,due to the oil pillow,the contact area between oil and air is reduced,and the oxidation of oil can be slowed down.


    3. Gas relay

    Gas relay,also known as gas relay,is the main protection device for the internal fault occurs inside the transformer,which is installed in the middle of the connecting oil pipe between the fuel tank and the oil pillow.When a serious fault occurs inside the transformer,the gas relay switches on the circuit breaker and trips the same way.When there is no serious fault inside the transformer,the gas relay is connected to the fault signal loop.


    4. Insulating bushing

    High and low insulation bushings are located on the top cover of the transformer oil tank,and porcelain insulation bushings are generally used for oil-immersed transformers.The function of the insulating bushing is to keep the high and low voltage winding leads well insulated with the fuel tank,and to fix the leads.


    5. Explosion-proof pipe

    The explosion-proof pipe,also known as the safety airway,is installed on the fuel tank of the transformer,and its outlet is sealed with a glass explosion-proof film.When there is a serious failure inside the transformer and the gas relay fails,the gas inside the tank breaks through the glass explosion-proof film and ejected from the safety airway to prevent the transformer from exploding.


    After normal transportation, this series of transformers can be installed without core inspection, and the acceptance project test can be put into operation after passing.
